Abwa Medical College Holds Hands-On Workshop on ‘Quality Matters in Assessment

The Department of Medical Education at Abwa Medical College, Faisalabad conducted a hands-on workshop titled “Quality Matters in Assessment” on 9th December 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The workshop focused on improving assessment quality and enhancing faculty skills in MCQ construction and pre-hoc validation.

The session was chaired by Vice Principal Professor Dr. Ambreen Farooq, facilitated by Dr. Noor-i-Kiran Haris, Head of Medical Education, and coordinated by Dr. Iram Gohar.

Dr. Noor-i-Kiran highlighted the importance of valid assessment tools and the institution’s adoption of a pre-hoc validation process. Participants developed and refined MCQs and performed pre-hoc item analysis with their colleagues, receiving constructive feedback throughout the activity.

The workshop reinforced the need for quality-driven assessments and strengthened collaboration among faculty members, concluding with a shared commitment to improving assessment standards at Abwa Medical College.
