Forensic Medicine Department Abwa Medical College, Faisalabad visited RTC Sahiwal

On the invitation of Regional Police Officer, Sahiwal Division…… A team of faculty members from Forensic Medicine Department Abwa Medical College, Faisalabad visited RTC Sahiwal on 9.12.2023 and shared their knowledge / practical experience of Medicolegal and Autopsy work, with the participants of one day seminar.

It was a joint session for capacity building of investigating Police Officers, upgrading the knowledge and skills of Medical officers & Women Medical officers regarding Autopsy and Medicolegal work.

Team of Abwa Medical College Faisalabad comprising of the following members attended the seminar:

1) Dr. Altaf Pervez Qasim,
Professor and HOD Forensic Medicine.

2) Dr.Maryam Shahid
M.Phil (F.Med) & Trainee FCPS

3) Dr.Kanwal Zahra
M.Phil (F.Med) & Trainee FCPS

4) Dr. Imran Hussain
Senior lecturer Forensic Medicine

5) Ms. Saira Ghafoor
M.Phil (Biotech) & Ph.D scholar

The participants including doctors, police officers and prosecution experts belonging to three districts i.e. Sahiwal, Pakpatan & Okara attended the one day seminar with keen interest and upgraded their knowledge regarding Medicolegal / Autopsy work and use of modern techniques for crime investigation.

The Forensic experts replied most of the questions to clear the ambiguities regarding practical aspects of Medicolegal and Autopsy work encountered by the doctors as well as investigating police officers during their day to day activities.

The seminar was attended by Senior Police Officers i.e.

SPs, SDPOs, Inspectors and Public Prosecutors.

In the end, Regional Police Officer Sahiwal Division, Mr. Mehboob Rashid thanked all the participants and appreciated the team of Forensic Medicine Department Abwa Medical College Faisalabad for visit to the RTC Sahiwal and sharing the Medicolegal knowledge and information for capacity building of investigation team in order to improve the criminal justice system…..
